Our Programs

Safe and Dignified Work

Our low-barrier transitional employment programs are designed to meet women where they are. Women who join us are emerging from generational poverty, substance use disorders, human trafficking, homelessness, and other traumatic circumstances.

Our 7-Day Work Program or 3-Month Primary Work Program focus on job readiness skills such as punctuality, communication, and taking instruction from leadership. Artisans who work with us leave with a letter of recommendation and the confidence that can only come from knowing you are valued and someone is in your corner.

7-Day Work Program

During our 7 day program, artisans work part time hours with us for 5 hours a day while being paid a competitive wage.

  • This is the entry program to work with Designed For Joy
  • Artisans receive their pay each day in cash at the end of each day
  • Our Care Manager proactively supports artisans for a month after their 7th day

3-Month Primary Work Program

The 3-Month Primary Work Program is an opportunity for artisans concluding the 7-Day Work Program to stay employed with us.

Eligibility for this program includes being respectful, punctual, willing to learn, and having a unique need unlikely to be met elsewhere.

During the 3-Month Primary Work Program, artisans participate in a job readiness curriculum, receive financial wellness training, learn basic job skills, and receive specialized support.

The Power of a Paycheck

Our programs provide women with a paycheck and employment verification. What many of us take for granted is that having job stability enables them to open a bank account, perhaps qualify for housing, and provide for their families.

Program Partners

Program Partners are organizations that provide services to vulnerable
populations. Program Partners include non-profit organizations that can refer potential women for work at Designed For Joy. We also have referral partners which are organizations that Designed For Joy refers women to for needed services.
