DESIGNED FOR JOY REACHES MILLION DOLLAR MILESTONE

RALEIGH, N.C., December 14, 2023 — Designed For Joy, the innovative non-profit organization dedicated to empowering women in crisis, proudly announces a significant milestone, surpassing the one million dollar mark annually in just its sixth year of operation.

“Through generous donations and the unwavering support of those who have embraced our mission by purchasing our products, we are so grateful to the Raleigh community and beyond,” says Cary Heise, Designed For Joy co-founder and executive director. “Together, we have reached this remarkable milestone, enabling us to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable women in crisis.”

Since its inception, Designed For Joy has provided immediate employment and support to nearly 200 vulnerable women. Through our full-time and day-work programs, artisans worked more than 12,000 hours this year alone. Ninety-two percent of program participants have successfully transitioned to employment in the local community.

Designed for Joy extends its mission by actively raising awareness about critical issues such as human trafficking. Throughout 2023, the organization has educated audiences through speaking engagements at 91 events, reaching thousands of people and fostering dialogue on pressing social issues.

“We couldn’t accomplish any of this work without the dedication of over 900 volunteers. From retail sales to feeding our women to working in the manufacturing operations, their selfless contributions form the backbone of Designed For Joy’s success,” says Designed For Joy co-founder and designer, Kristen Sydow.
