Each unique board is a masterpiece of its own. Unique in shape, wood grain, and character, these boards have gorgeous spalted wood patterns, knots, and live edges. Every single purchase supports women emerging from crisis who are earning a living wage as artisans at Designed For Joy. These women start in our Day Work Program where they earn cash-in-hand at the end of each day. Many of these women are experiencing homeless and in immediate need. When they arrive at Designed For Joy, we feed them, show them love, and provide them with purpose and a safe space. After the first week, they are eligible to interview for our 3-month artisan program. To date we've hired over 140 women, and they have earned over $500,000 in living wages. Our goal is to help these women build the confidence and skills needed to transition into a permanent retail management position.
